A Oando PLC conquistou a operação de um bloco onshore da Bacia do Kwanza, marcando a sua entrada na indústria angolana de petróleo e gás.
“O Bloco KON 13 está estrategicamente localizado na prolífica Bacia Onshore do Kwanza, que representa um potencial de exploração significativo tanto no pré-sal como no pós-sal, com recursos prospectivos estimados de 770 a 1.100 milhões de barris de petróleo”, disse Oando num comunicado online.
Anteriormente, dois poços de exploração foram perfurados a uma profundidade alvo de 3.000 metros (9.842,52 pés), com petróleo e gás encontrados em várias profundidades, disse.
A Oando, que venceu a licitação através da subsidiária Oando Energy Resources (OER), possui uma participação de 45 por cento. A Effimax Energy detém 30 por cento, enquanto a estatal Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola EP detém 15 por cento, segundo Oando.
“Este desenvolvimento sublinha o compromisso incansável da Oando em expandir a nossa presença em África e contribuir para os objectivos de suficiência energética do continente”, disse o executivo-chefe da Oando, Wale Tinubu.
A OER detém interesses de exploração, desenvolvimento e produção em ativos de petróleo e gás onshore e offshore na Nigéria e em São Tomé e Príncipe. Possui 22.447 quilômetros quadrados (8.666,83 milhas quadradas) de área cultivada, uma capacidade de movimentação de petróleo de 483.000 barris por dia, uma capacidade de movimentação de gás de 3.663 milhões de pés cúbicos padrão por dia, 3,5 milhões de barris de capacidade terminal, uma rede de dutos que se estende por 1.255 quilômetros (779,82 milhas), 14 estações de fluxo e uma usina de energia de um gigawatt, de acordo com Oando.
Aquisição do NAOC
No ano passado, a Oando adquiriu a Nigerian Agip Oil Co. (NAOC) da Eni SpA por quase US$ 800 milhões.
A NAOC opera licenças de mineração de petróleo (OMLs) 60, 61, 62 e 63 no Delta do Níger por meio da joint venture da NAOC com a Oando e a Nigeria National Petroleum Co. Antes da transação com a Eni, apoiada pelo Estado italiano, a NAOC e a Oando detinham uma participação de 20 por cento cada na joint venture, enquanto os restantes 60 por cento estavam sob a NNPC E&P Ltd.
A parte da joint venture NAOC da aquisição da Oando incluiu “quarenta campos de petróleo e gás descobertos, dos quais vinte e quatro estão produzindo atualmente, aproximadamente quarenta prospectos e leads identificados, doze estações de produção, aproximadamente 1.490 km [925,8 milhas] de oleodutos, três plantas de processamento de gás, o Terminal de Petróleo de Brass River, as usinas de energia das fases 1 e 2 de Kwale-Okpai (com uma capacidade nominal total de 960 megawatts) e infraestrutura associada”, disse Oando em agosto. 22 de outubro de 2024, anunciando o encerramento da transação.
A venda da Eni também incluiu os interesses operacionais de 48% e 90% da NAOC nos arrendamentos de exploração 135 e 282, respectivamente. No entanto, não incluiu a participação de cinco por cento da NAOC na joint venture Shell Petroleum Development Co., focada no Delta do Níger.
“É uma vitória para a Oando e para todos os intervenientes energéticos indígenas, pois tomamos o nosso destino nas nossas mãos e desempenhamos um papel fundamental nesta próxima fase da evolução a montante da nação”, disse Tinubu, o executivo-chefe da Oando.
